List of electrical companies.
Electricians are a small file in Leadity's Q3 2026 Google Maps data: 17,565 electrician businesses against 79,611 Census employer firms in 2022. The gap shows what customers chose to scrape, not what Google Maps lists. 39.6% list a mobile, 30.9% a landline and only 4.5% no phone.

How thin is the electrician sample against the Census?
Context for researchers. The Census counts only firms with at least one paid employee, so one-person businesses are missing. It is not a Leadity dataset. Skip it if you only need a list.

Census sorts electricians into one code, electrical contractors and other wiring installation contractors, and counts 79,611 employer firms in it (2022). Electricians in Leadity's Q3 2026 Google Maps data come to 17,565 businesses, 0.2 per firm, the lowest ratio of the 15 trades with a code. Read that as a thin sample, not a small trade: customers scraped fewer electricians than the Census has firms.
The Census-coded trades differ in firm size, and electrical firms rank 2nd of 15 at 12 employees; receipts average $3.1 million a firm, $247.6 billion overall. California (9,708), Florida (6,138), Texas (5,720), New York (5,219) and North Carolina (2,908) hold the most firms; with no state at 3,000 electricians, there is no state table.
Do any electrician listings lack a phone?
Almost every electrician lists a phone: only 4.5% do not, the fifth lowest share of the 32 trades. Landlines hold 30.9%, VoIP 19.4%, mobiles 39.6%. A further 4.1% of listings carry a number that came back unnamed from the line-type check (fourth highest of 32, against a 0.8% median), and unnamed numbers are never counted as mobiles. Together the three typed lines reach 89.9% of listings.
Do electricians' phones stand out among 32 trades?
| Measure | Electricians | Median of 32 | Place |
|---|---|---|---|
| No phone at all | 4.5% | 8.3% | 28 |
| Unnamed number | 4.1% | 0.8% | 4 |
| Landline | 30.9% | 22% | 6 |
| Mobile | 39.6% | 39.8% | 17 |

Electricians rank twenty-eighth of 32 on listings with no phone, which is to say very few have none. Unnamed numbers rank fourth, landlines sixth, and mobile share is mid-table at seventeenth.
Websites and reviews sit in the middle
- 33.0%No website
- 15Reviews, median business
- 25Businesses per ZIP search
The listing columns hold few surprises for electricians: 33% have no website link (median trade 31.2%) and the half-way listing carries 15 reviews. Density is the exception, about 25 electricians per ZIP search, sixth highest of 32.
Who sells to electricians?
Electrical supply houses, estimating-software vendors, agencies and insurers buy these lists; electricians looking for work do not. A supply house that sells wire, panels, breakers and lighting by the pallet can size territories from the Census state counts: California alone has 9,708 firms.
Software for estimating, scheduling and job costing suits a firm of 12 people, the Census average.
Agencies selling websites and local ads for service calls can begin with the 33% of listings that have none.
Insurers covering electrical work can combine the 7,000 mobile numbers with the landlines 30.9% of electricians publish.
How we counted the thin sample
Electrician numbers are dated 20 October 2026. Treat the Census ratio as a measure of how deep the sample is, not how large the trade is; the linked pages explain the limits, the method and the prices.
Electricians: Census ratio, unnamed numbers, states
Why do electricians have only 0.2 businesses per Census firm?
Electricians have only 0.2 businesses per Census firm because customer scrapes found 17,565 of them, while Census counts 79,611 electrical contractor firms with payroll (2022). No trade with a Census code has a lower ratio. Treat this report as a sample of the trade, not a map of it. Read 20 October 2026.
Why do some electrician numbers carry no line type?
Some electrician numbers carry no line type because the carrier lookup could not place them, or they were not North American numbers: 4.1% of electrician listings in Leadity's Q3 2026 Google Maps data. These sit in their own share, fourth highest of 32, never in the mobile figure, and a mobile-only order leaves them out. Read 20 October 2026.
Is there an electrician state table?
No electrician state table exists, because no state reaches the 3,000-business floor for a state row in Leadity's Q3 2026 Google Maps data, so the Census firm counts stand in. You can still order electricians for one state or for a handful of ZIP codes, whatever the report shows. Read 20 October 2026.
