Context for researchers. The Census counts only firms with at least one paid employee, so one-person businesses are missing. It is not a Leadity dataset. Skip it if you only need a list.

Census counts 132,711 residential remodeler firms with payroll (2022), every kind of home remodeling, so the code is wider than bathrooms. Against 425,907 bathroom remodelers that is 3.2 per firm, well above what a one-to-one match would show.
State by state the ratio runs from 1.8 in Texas to 7.1 in North Carolina. Each business counts once per trade, so the high end comes from the Google Maps side: remodelers with no payroll are not Census firms, yet each still has a listing. Almost all of these firms are tiny, with 81.6% under five employees.
No trade returns an owner name more often than bathroom remodelers
Bathroom remodelers top the owner-name table: the lookup confirmed an owner for 40.0% of the 824 it checked between 15 and 30 September 2026. Roofing contractors come next at 38.2%, and the rate across all 33,522 businesses checked was 29.3%.
The checked sample is small beside the 425,907 bathroom remodelers in the file, because the lookup ran for the second half of September only.
