Small Business Website Statistics (2026)
No US government survey we found counts small businesses without a website. Two 2025 vendor surveys put the share with a website at 83% (Clutch), or 40% with a dedicated website (BrightLocal). What percentage of small businesses have a website?
- 83% of small businesses have a website, up from 64% in 2018, in a Clutch vendor survey released 21 August 2025. Clutch
- 40% of 778 US small and medium business owners or managers say they have a dedicated website, in a BrightLocal vendor survey of 7 August 2025. BrightLocal
- 76.66% of EU enterprises with 10 to 49 people had a website in 2025, against 95.65% of large enterprises, per Eurostat. Eurostat
- 79.01% of all EU enterprises with at least 10 people had a website in 2025; Eurostat's survey leaves out smaller firms. Eurostat
Why the surveys disagree
The surveys ask different people different questions. Clutch counts any website; BrightLocal asked about a dedicated one, and more of its respondents named Facebook (50%) or Instagram (44%).
Eurostat leaves out firms with fewer than 10 people. None of the three is a census, so quote each with its publisher and year.

How we measured
What the figure measures. A Google Maps business counts as no website when its listing's website field is empty. A Facebook or Yelp page is not counted as a website.
The data. Leadity's Q3 2026 Google Maps data: 2,782,509 businesses in 245 trades, found by Leadity customer scrapes of Google Maps from 1 July to 30 September 2026, test accounts excluded, each business counted once. Read 20 October 2026. The 32 trades on this page hold 2,241,697 businesses.
Limits. These are the businesses Leadity customers chose to scrape, by trade and area, not a random sample. A business found in two trades counts once in each; businesses not on Google Maps are not counted. A listing statistic is not a census of all businesses.
No site link is not proof. A business can have a website its listing does not show. That is why Leadity's no-website filter checks the listing, social media and other online sources, and leaves out any business with a website anywhere. We publish no measured share for that cross-check.
External figures are quoted as each publisher states them; every source was read on 15 October 2026.
Full method: the size, read date and limits of every Leadity dataset are on how we measure our data.

Questions people ask
